5th International Contest Rules

 

Art. 1 - The 5th International Contest “Associazione Corale G. P. Da

Palestrina” will take place in Manduria (TA) at “Palazzo delle Servite”.

Art. 2 - All applications (use the attached form or copy of it) must be sent

by FAX  (+39 99 9711730) to the offices of the Association: Via G.L. Marugy, 49 - 74024 Manduria (TA) by May 30th 2000.

Art. 3 - Entry is open to music students and those making their debut in

public whatever their nationality, residing in Italy and abroad.

Art. 4 - The Contest will be devided into six sections:

            Section 1 - Guitar Soloist

            Section 2 - Soloist Singers

            Section 3 - Piano Soloist

            Section 4 - Piano for four hands

            Section 5 - Ensemble Music

            Section 6 - Chamber Music   

Art. 5 - Competitors will be called in alphabetical order, according to the

calendar drawn up after the closing date for entries.

Art. 6 - The Jury has the power to ask the candidate to perform a second

time.

Art. 7 - The jury’s decision is final and will be expressed in points from 1 to

100:

              From 95 to 100 First Prize with Diploma and Medal

              From 90 to 94 Second Prize with Diploma and Medal

              From 85 to 89 Third Prize with Diploma and Medal

              From 80 to 84 Forth Prize with Diploma

              From 75 to 79 Fifth Prize with Diploma

All other competitors will receive a certificate attesting their partecipation.

Art. 8 - Competitors themselves must arrange for their own accompanist;

otherwise they may avail themselves of the pianist provided by the

Association,  for a fee of 50.000 lire except for the final evening’s

performance, if applicable.

Art. 9 - Competitors must produce proof of identity as well as the document

certifying that they have passed the first or the inter-mediate level of study.

Art. 10 - The prizes and the grant must be collected only on the prizegiving

evening, otherwise all rights to such prizes will be lost. Certificates may be collected at the end of each day of the contest.

Art 11 - For circumstances beyond our control this notice could be subject to

change.
